The German Leather Museum’s unique collection world-wide comprises more than 30,000 objects made of various types of leather and related materials such as fur, vellum or dried rawhide. To mark the international conference of the ICOM-CC working group on ‘Leather and Related Materials’, which took place at the German Leather Museum with the support of UNESCO, the museum’s restorers selected items from the collection relating to various cultures and eras and brought them together in an exhibition and a publication of the same name with an eye on matters of preservation.

A comprehensive publication accompanied the exhibition. This is available for purchase on site in the museum or can be ordered via e-mail at info@ledermuseum.de.
