For the first time, the German Leather Museum took part in the light and media festival Luminale. In a collaboration with Offenbach University of Art and Design (Prof. Frank Georg Zebner), students developed an interactive installation that presented leather as a material in a playful way.

During the Luminale, the museum façade became the stage for the treasures the German Leather Museum holds, whereby the museum as an institution and the approach to objects could be experienced in an entirely new way. Through the use of gestures, the observers were able to interactively change and manipulate the projections of the unique surface structure of the Museum's collection objects in real-time visualization.
