Films about the leatherworking industry in and around Offenbach am Main

The history of the city of Offenbach/Main and the art of leatherworking are inextricably linked. Even today, high-quality leather goods are still produced in the city and surroundings. Seven of the short films produced by the German Leather Museum offer an exciting insight into the craftsmanship and production in this region.

Former and current high-end bagmakers, designers and leatherworkers discuss craftsmanship and tradition, manufacturing processes, and the importance of fashion and trends. See for yourself, for example, how a wallet is produced in the Kreis leather workshop, hear from Jürgen Ernst who tells us more about the profession and craft of bespoke shoemaking, or join former pattern-maker Gunter Brehm to take a look behind the scenes of the museum in the German Leather Museum’s Goldpfeil collection.

The films are currently available in German only.
